Anyways, we had a wonderful time with my parents. I'm so glad that I have a good relationship with both of my parents- we're actually very close. Seems like I call my mom 3-4 times a week just to chat.
Before I get into the text that half of you won't read, here are some pics of our fun week-
Dad and Daniel having fun with glasses:
Tuesday, we went downtown to have lunch with my brother Kevin. After an interesting lunch (Daniel had a diaper malfunction for the first time in months), we went to a great park downtown called the Discovery Green:
On Wednesday we went to "Old Town Spring", a delightful 4 blocks of old boutiques and shops. Mom and Daniel had fun walking:
(Yes, my son often doesn't wear shoes. His feet are just too fat. We finally bought him a pair last week)
Then we went over to Kevin's house and played with their new baby Joseph:
Joseph and Daniel are good friends:
They came down for a week- they spent the first half at our house and the second half at my brother Kevin's. The first few days, I was getting ready for a big Relief Society hoopla and was incredibly stressed and annoyed at myself for volunteering for way too much stuff then procrastinating it until my parents were here. One of the things I had volunteered to do was make 75 RS directory booklets- with the name, email, phone, address and birthday of all 90 women in our ward. Considering the church doesn't have a soft copy version of all 5 of those items, it took some creative excel usage, data entry, and a mail merger to get it right- thank heavens for my 2 years of experience as a receptionist.
In the end, we got them all printed and cut down to size, then my dear sweet father painstakingly stapled all 100 copies, being careful not to let the undersized stapler leave any lasting fold damage to the booklets. I would NEVER have pulled it off without them. Most of all, I love that for 2 days I was in my worst possible mood, stressed and irritable, and my parents were nothing but patient and helpful. Even at my worst, I feel so loved.
Daniel LOVED having his grandparents here. He took right to both of them. My mom is amazing with babies and my dad was made to be a grandpa. D was in top form- honestly, I don't think I've ever had a full week go by where Daniel was in that good of a mood. It was awesome.

that little baby i thought was daniel at first! kind of freaked me out. :) i love the glasses picture! what a cute little monkey!
I'm glad you had so much fun with them. The little baby looks so tiny in your dad's arms. :)
Look at that last picture. Daniel soooo needs a little brother.
Joseph is so tiny! I looked at those pictures and thought how big Adam already is in comparison. Crazy the amount of difference a few short months makes in the life of a baby!
I'm glad you had such a great time with your parents. My dad is coming to visit at the end of the month. This post makes me even more excited for his arrival!
Don't worry about the shoes. Babies don't need them! It is better for them to learn to walk without shoes anyway--or at most in shoes that have very flexible soles.
How fun to have cousins close by.
ah that's great you had such a nice time! your parents a good people, it has been forever since i've seen them esp. now that they moved.
