Today marks Daniel's first birthday. I wrote Daniel quite a lengthy letter to serve as the journal for his first year. Here are some excerpts:
My dear sweet Baby Daniel,
Today marks the end of your first year with our family, and oh, what a wonderful year it has been. Daddy and I both agree it has been the happiest year of either of our lives.
You arrived at 8:13pm at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You were three weeks and two days shy of your due date (May 21st), making you technically premature by 2 days, but were a healthy 7 pounds and 11 ounces. We were SO ready to meet you and I was SO ready to not be pregnant anymore.
We entered the hospital at about 5:30 am on a Saturday morning, they broke my water at noon, contractions picked up at 2pm, and I started pushing at 6pm.
It was love at first sight. The first thing everyone noticed was your complete lack of hair.
You are such a happy little man: you love to make people around you smile. We can't go out the door without people commenting on what a happy and adorable baby you are. So far, your personality shows a desire to see those around you happy, a good sense of humor (you laugh more than any baby I've ever met), and a very easy-going and relaxed outlook.
I'm so excited to see you grow and who you become. Thanks for teaching me how to be a mommy:)

Happy Birthday, Daniel! The first year goes by sooo fast, doesn't it? How neat he has a cousin his same age (minus a couple days).
so i sat and watched the whole 100 pics slideshow. too cute!!! i loved the 9 month series. crawling, the bare bum diaper change, one with lucy....adorable!!!

Happy Birthday Daniel! Can you believe it has been a year already?? Owen will be a year old tomorrow....and he was 4 weeks early after 10 weeks bedrest...isn't it crazy how similar our pregnancies were?
He is absolutely ADORABLE! I love his smile:). Hope he had a great day!
I want nice, fat, well rounded lips like little Daniel! He is so cute. and the colors of his Easter outfit were perfect. And.. he is getting more HAIR!
