Names

Alright, everyone... time for name suggestions. Our current winners are (in no particular order):
-Amos (if we can get past the anus thing, this one would win)
-Milo (I love it for a kid, but I have problems picturing a future CEO named Milo)
-Elijah (kind of trendy right now, especially among the mormons)
-Caleb (not that original, and Kenny is merely "ok" with it, but it's been a favorite of mine for a long time, it was a cool OT prophet and it has a cool meaning in hebrew and arabic)

Unfortunately, most of my male heroes have lame names. Victor or Hugo, Jean or Marius, John or Ronald or Reuel, Clive Staples, Antoine (as in st. exupery), Alexandre (as in Dumas), Mario, Luigi, Brom, Larry (after my dad of course)... yeah, no luck. All kind of lame for a little boy (no offense, dad). Dylan would be great, but my sister Becky claimed that one and it fits her son quite well.

The things we're looking for are: original (as a Jennifer, I'm deadset on having a child who shares his name with at least 4 kids in every class), more than one syllable (since we have a monosyllabic last name), not trendy (Aiden, Caden, Jaden, Carter, Conner... all good names, but it's been done), can't end in "k" (Jack Kunz sounds too much like racoons), not the name of an ex-boyfriend (Jake and Ryan are right out), and ideally, it would have some fun meaning behind it (as much as I love being named after Arthur's adulterous wife). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, though please be understanding if one or the other of us vetoes it (we've gotten used to shooting down each other's ideas). I doubt we'll really decide for sure until the baby comes (only 4 months!), since there hasn't been a strong enough front runner yet.

I LOVE the name Eamon (I would pronounce it like A-min), but my hubby vetoed it because it reminded him of "Amen". I guess it's better than "anus". :o) I

I vote for Milo. Milo Kunz is a great sounding name.

I like both Amos and Milo, they're cute. I'll tell you what we did. We picked whatever name we wanted and then gave them a more traditional middle name so if they end up hating it they have a good second choice. Poor Miya, no one will be able to spell it and everyone calls her "My-A" instead of "Me-Ya".

Since I am in the suggestion-making mode, I'll give some to you too. Eagle seems to be taken but Misha's not hanging on so hard to Dakota. Or there's Jude, Elias, Isaac, Preston, Pierce, or Jaxson. Just heard Grayer on "The Nanny Diaries" or Grayson.

Apple seems to have been taken but I hear Pomegranite is up and coming. Just kidding. I've always liked the name Matthew even though Kevin has dibbs on it, but you could always change it up some to Matthison or Matthimilo. ;)

There are so many names that I love, but won't be able to use with the last name Rader.
My favorite = Nolan
Dawson
Sawyer
Griffin
Ramsey
Abraham (Braham)
Everett (Rhett)
Cohen
Garrett
Logan
Camden
We'll be using an L name if we have another boy, so I like Lexon, Lucas, or Lincoln.
Take them or leave them, it won't hurt my feelings.

so yeah, stay away from any name ending in -aden. (kaden, jaden, aiden). I work at a school and I know about a zillion and one kids with those names. I've always like Carson but i can't use it because my brother stole it. Just don't give his a name that makes him sound black. Not that there is anything wrong with being black or black names. It just weird meeting a white kid with a black name. I know it is a fairly popular trend here in ut. just don't do it. It's like naming a non-asian kid Yen. bytheway, newsradio rocks, we have abunch of the seasons, we should get together and watch some. I haven't seen you guys in forever.

I like Caleb. I'm all for names that people can pronounce and spell without feeling bad. Seems to be quite the opposite in trends these days.

I think I already told you this...but I ADORE the name Milo. Especially with the last name Kunz...it is a perfect fit. So Milo is my vote :)

Well, I don't like Amos, too many bad things he will be called in school. And Milo - sounds like a dog... don't get too trendy or cutsy, poor kid won't have a prayer in school! How about Noah or Adam or I LOVE Jo's suggestion of Matthison. Sarah has some great names... Dawson
Griffin
Rhett
Garrett
Logan I am with Christopher - whatever you choose, make it something people can say and get right on the first time, something the kiddo will be proud to be called and something that will warm your heart when you call him! Love MOM
