Avery had an early 1st birthday party we were invited to. It was a costume party, but Kenny and I were lame and didn't dress up. I threw together a last minute "costume" for Daniel- Super Mario:
He had fun with Avery (a cowboy):
And got his first real sugar, in cupcake form (see blue frosting):
And enjoyed playing with Daddy and with Avery's fun toys:
All in all, we had an AWESOME spring break. Lots of fun.
Bad times- this is a perfect representation of my day today:
My baby has decided that baby food is old news and he wants to feed himself. I still can't relinquish the control and let him feed himself anything remotely messy, and unfortunately graham crackers and cheerios hardly make full meals. So he won't sleep because he's too hungry, and he won't eat because he's too tired:
Today was a hard day. It may be because I got spoiled by Kenny being home over spring break last week and I miss him fiercely (I am sooo dependent on my wonderful husband)

amen. reggie has a cold, and it was a miserable day. we were spoiled by spring break too.
I've been dealing with the same thing but Charlie feeds himself and pretty good too. So some suggestions for not so messy self feeding foods: sliced apples, peas, peas and carrots, pb&j sandwiches, cheeseburgers, think anything that you could eat with your hands as an adult and not get super messy with. If you go the sammich route, you can make them and put them in zip locks and save time in prep.
We do alot of cut up chicken - not messy. I also make pancakes, waffles and egg yolk omlets on the weekends so he can take that for breakfast for the sitter. Not messy either!
ohmy! he looks SO tired! i almost need to crash just looking at that face. poor baby and poor maamaa.
Chris and I aren't much for dressing up either. Our girls? Yes. Chris' favorite costume is a walmart greeter vest.
