First of all, let me apologize for being so long in between posts. I have no good excuse.
Second, I posted many pics on my google gallery a few days ago, including pics from the engagement, wedding, honeymoon, my 05 trip to Europe, and how cute we were as kids.
Third, I must say that last weekend was AWESOME. We celebrated "love day"- the culmination of Valentine's Day, the anniversary of kenny's proposal, and our 6-month-iversary. We celebrated all three on Saturday.
First we exchanged gifts. Kenny got me a $50 gift certificate to a spa so I can get a massage, and I got him some lawn gnomes (he collects them), a calendar of his favorite artist (Brom), and, most importantly, made him a Nintendo-themed apron (see the graphic I made for it here). Both of us LOVED the gifts.
Then Kenny became the man of mystery and managed to keep secret from me the plans of the evening. We went to PF Changs (one of my favorites), then to BYU for a Kalai concert. The concert was a bit of a bust- it was a 7 o'clock show, and we came at 6:30 and ended up leaving at 7:30 when the show STILL hadn't started and the line was getting obnoxious. That's ok, though, cause the next activity was great.
We started driving North and I said "hmmm, north... we must be going to the Riverwoods shopping complex. But the only thing there that we could do is Color Me Mine" (a pottery-painting place I had wanted to go to). Kenny didn't say anything so I continued, "Hm, that must be where we are going. If not, then too bad, I'm getting my hopes up for it", to which he said, "Well, didn't we go there once to check it out and we didn't see anything we wanted?"
So I was totally shot down and clueless as to where we were going.
Turns out, Kenny managed to deceive me for the first time ever. Seriously, I was more surprised and pleased with his deception than I was with the activity itself. We did go to Color Me Mine and I painted a penguin and a spoon holder, and he painted a Cookie Jar to look like an original Nintendo system. Then we came home, had a lovely evening together, and went to bed at like 2.
We slept through 9 am church the next morning so we got to spend the whole day together at home, except for a brief while we went Frisbee-golfing with Ben since it was a pretty day. Monday was a holiday for me- I was planning on being productive and lonely, but instead Kenny stayed home and kept me company. It was delightful. All in all, I'd say I love Kenny more every day and I couldn't be happier with my life right now. Hooray!
