Rolling!

Daniel is now rolling both ways- hooray! He's been rolling front to back for probably a month or more but couldn't roll back to front- meaning he'd get stuck on his back and get frustrated (especially while trying to sleep, meaning I had some sleepless nights of baby-flopping). He finally mastered the roll yesterday- and guess who taught him? The dog. That's right. Lucy, who herself hasn't mastered "roll over" was the incentive necessary to get Daniel interested enough in trying it. He wanted to get to the dog who was feet away so he finally rolled.

He's also recently discovered his feet:

(and may I point out the cute little puppy feet in the corner of this pic?)
If you haven't noticed, a recurring theme in my pics is Daniel and the Dog. They are the best of friends. He's always reaching out for her and smiling when she comes to him. And she's happy to lick his hands or just lay with him while he kicks her or grabs her ears:

I like to think I'm not one of those dog-obsessed people. Lucy is great, but she's not a human kid and we know that. I don't mean to capture Lucy in every shot of Daniel, but she's always right there! Where Daniel is, Lucy won't be far.

It just makes me so happy, though, when I turn around from work during the day, to see the baby and the dog on the floor keeping each other happy. And Lucy knows not to lick his face. She's good about that. Now we just need to train Daniel to not try to bite the puppy (stupid teething, *gumble grumble*)...

Don't think I've ever seen him without a big grin on his face. Must be nice. :-)

I just want to HUG him, he is so smiling and cute. And yes, he has an adorable puppy sister who apparently adores him too.
